SECRETS OF A HAPPY GAY/BI RELATIONSHIP

Over the years, I've been through a lot of failed relationships. There are a handful of lessons I've learned that I thought would be helpful in making every relationship happy.

1. SAY WORDS OF APPRECIATION. Not all couple do this anymore when your relationship progress. They seldom say "thank you," "I enjoyed it," "that was great," and the like. Kadalasan kasi, pag tumatagal ang relationship, nagiging "matic" na ang mga words na ito. We subconsciously think that it's our partner's responsibility to make us happy. Say these words often. Make him feel that you appreciate small deeds. Yung sinundo ka nya, hinawakan sya kamay mo, pinagdala ng food - those small acts deserve words of appreciation.

2. DON'T JUST HAVE SEX, MAKE LOVE. Most couple are driven by lustful desire towards their partner. The ending? They get laid, undress and have sex. Making love is different. Making love is all about a romantic foreplay, good conversations while doing it, saying you love him sincerely, avoiding curse-pleasure words, enjoying it both and not being in a hurry to clean up after making out.

3. DO THINGS DIFFERENTLY TOGETHER. There's always a first time for everything and what other better way to do first time stuff with the one you love? Not only that you build memories together, you build experience. Travel somewhere, try extreme activities, eat exotic food. But it's important to remind him all throughout that while the experience is good, it becomes better because you are doing it together.

4. YOU ARE YOU, HE IS HIM. Don't take away his "me time" and your "you time." most couples have the wrong notion na kelangan magkasama sila sa lahat ng lakad. That is wrong. You will just tighten the rope. Learn to trust and give him that benefit. Although of course, kelangan bawasan ang paglabas labas.

5. ARGUE. DISAGREE. BUT NEVER CHALLENGE THE RELATIONSHIP. Believe it or not, argument and disagreement is a part of a healthy relationship. What's not a part of it is you or your partner challenging the relationship to a point of nearly breaking up. Doing so makes your relationship brittle and brittle everytime.

6. REGARDLESS OF WHO IS TOP OR BOTTOM, MAKE HIM FEEL A WOMAN ONCE IN A WHILE. Let's face it, the reason why we are bisexuals and gays is because we have a feminine side. So even if your boyfriend is a Top, it doesn't hurt to bring him flowers, or cook breakfast and serve it in bed. He would love that.

7. LASTLY, COURT HIM FROM TIME TO TIME. Hindi porke kayo na, ititigil mo na ang panliligaw. You have to assure him that he's yours and you're his. Pop him that question every now and then... "Will you be my boyfriend?" "Will you be my partner?" "Will you be my happily ever after?" Take him out on a date. Go to places you've dated before and reminisce.
